The Simple Woman

 December 1, 2008

~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

this morning from my front porch . . .
spattering of snow, cardinal chirping at the feeder, juncos on the ground, a few less cars in the driveway from the Thanksgiving Holiday

i am remembering . . .
an abundance of everything! Food, late-night arrivals, Turkey Trot, laughter, fight between dog “cousins”, snow, movie, conversations, target shooting, family Christmas gifts, Cabella trip for the men-folk, authentic mexican dinner made by our daughter and her husband, warm home, pool tournament, black Friday boycott, very tense Catch Phrase game, and family in every room.

i am thankful  . . .
how God provides, specific ways to pray for family, plentiful water for the weekend

from the kitchen . . .
turkey carcass, crab dip to be recycled, empty serving dishes, simple dinner for tonight

I am thinking . . .
praying for our family needs to be a higher priority

around the house . . .
stacks of games, piles of dirty sheets and towels

I am reading . . .
Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
for this week’s book club meeting

my favorite things . . .
being back to a “normal” routine; collaborative project with my sister-in-law

a few plans for the rest of the week . . .
laundry, cleaning, preparing for Christmas decorating, putting away fall decorations; working/preparing a new discernment blog, playing catch-up!

a verse of Scripture . . .
They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world;
and the world hears them.
1John 4:5

Here is a picture thought I am sharing from the Thanksgiving weekend . . .
