What an unusual date for the Anniversary of the Reformation, October 31, 1517. Just learned of this anniversary date last week. If you have never read Martin Luther’s 95 Theses nailed into the door of Castle Church at the University in Wittenberg, Germany, it is worth your time.

I also learned the meaning of the symbols on Martin Luther’s Seal. Today is a great opportunity to explore the men who further shaped the theology of the Reformation. I found this Chart of Protestant Reformers to be fascinating (scroll down the page to see it.)

And if you are still hungry for more ~~ an audio: The Courage to be Protestant.  Joining the White Horse Inn panel on this edition of the program is David Wells, professor at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and author of many books including No Place for Truth, and God in the Wasteland. On this program Dr. Wells discusses his most recent book, The Courage to be Protestant, which outlines the problems of contemporary Christianity, and encourages us to take refuge in the solas of the Reformation.

Praise God that we have this Freedom in the United States of America to openly read Scripture, pray without ceasing in public, and preach God’s Word in public!
