this morning

from my front porch . . .  trampled grass from eager yard sale shoppers, boxes of yard sale “leftovers” to sort: keep for next year’s sale & Good Will

i am remembering . . . Sunday night: friends gathered on the back porch sharing Apple Festival chicken dinners, barbeque pork sandwiches, bean soup, fresh bread, fervent discussion of the PCUSA  (and maybe a political word or two)

i am thankful  . . . beautiful weather on Sunday, late Steeler football game so the Apple Festival was well attended, visiting college students

from the kitchen . . .  overflowing with the dirty dishes, glasses, and crockpots waiting for my attention

i am reading . . . stacks of my friend’s Martha Stewart magazines that didn’t sell

i am hoping . . . to see the kitchen countertops by lunch and that our son will have energy to complete some studies today

around the house . . . stray pieces of grass from damp shoes, price tags, string, scissors, Boy Scout uniform pieces, and lots of empty boxes

one of my favorite things . . . starting a new book!

a few plans for the rest of the week . . . life catch-up and home-recovery, clean & fill the birdfeeders

a quote to encourage . . . “It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness” C. H. Spurgeon

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you . . .
