God’s call in our life is to

love Him,

our husbands, and

our families.

However, the world tugs and pulls at our time and energy. How do we maintain a simple, balanced life? One that is focused on loving and glorifying the Lord? Well, we must plan and schedule it. Build a routine and create discipline in our lives.

We have been looking at the 8 keynote areas for our simple weekly calendar. We are developing a Sunday routine which orders our weekly activities, builds discipline, and brings Glory to the Lord.  The 8 keynote areas of our simple weekly calendar are: spiritual life, family life, home life, ministry/church life, physical life, social life, financial life, and mental life.

physical life: This area is about making the “vessel”, our bodies, strong and able to serve the Lord and others. It is valuing our bodies, realizing they are not indestructible, and caring for what the Lord lovingly created for our good and His Glory!

Reference: ” . . . but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified” 1Corinthians 9:27  OUCH!

A Sampling:  Exercise 3 days, make a hair appointment, schedule the dentists appointment for the children, soak in a bath (I like this one!), fasting one day of the week.  Scheduling these into your simple weekly calendar when you are scheduling your other keynote areas makes success attainable — You can see what fits the best into a particular day based on that day’s schedule.
