”Live your life in such a way

that when your feet hit the floor in the morning,

satan shudders and says . . .  ‘OH NO, she’s awake!’

– unknown

Welcome to my front porch.  Life isn’t always peaceful from the front porch. We have interesting neighbors, hurting neighbors, busy neighbors, and quiet neighbors.  We have 3 children in 3 different places in life making their way . . . and we live on a busy road headed for somewhere . . .

So the front porch isn’t always quiet but it is a safe perch to watch and think about the comings and goings of our small corner of the world.

I hope you will sit with me on our porch as this 40-something tries to live through the life-changes that 40-something brings. Children leaving home, one still at home, homeschooling, making sense of a world gone crazy, home-based business owner, passionate about the Lord, desiring “simple”, trying to define “simple”, and embracing change . . .

40-something is a fabulous opportunity to evaluate life.  Life is a journey and Jesus Christ is in my driver’s seat (at least most of the time). I love my journey and I love my life, but it isn’t always easy and it isn’t always simple . . .

To know more about me, what I believe, my passion and mission,
please read this post: Just Give Me Jesus

{2 Corinthians 2:14-16}

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are the fragrance of Christ to God among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma of death to death, to the other an aroma of life to life. And who is adequate for these things? For we are not like many, peddling the Word of God but as from sincerity;
but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.

  2. Your front porch sounds a LOT like mine… hahaha…

    I know exactly where you’re at, although I have all my adult children come back home. One pregnant and single. So our family is extending by a little one due in the beginning of April.

    A shock, yes, but a welcomed and loved one!
